Holy moly you have so many effects! I'm just happy I can control them! As a person which gets easily distracted, I had to turn all of them off for sensory overload. So i'm sorry, but i don't think i will experience the developer intended experience. Although frankly, i'm not sure that turning them off actually works XD.

You've added a TON of little easter eggs and cameos, not even sure if they mean something as i didn't progress as much into the game.

Ok, i've been stuck playing your game haha. Skirmish mode. I need to tell you that i am impressed. I've noticed a lot of details in the game, <span class="NormalTextRun SCXW83028082 BCX8" <there's<="" span="">>span class="NormalTextRun SCXW83028082 BCX8"> quite a steep learning curve when it comes to the special functions, your rock paper scissor approach - it's hard to determine who is weak to what.</span>

Finally finished the campaign: it was a blast! I'm wondering if you can prevent the glitches with the camera, now i understand why you have a camera reset button.

You have so much going on... seriously. I'm proud of you and your work.

<span class="NormalTextRun SCXW83028082 BCX8" <there's<="" span="">>span class="NormalTextRun SCXW83028082 BCX8"> a lot going on in this game. It's a well made TBS, and often i've had the dejavu of playing total war:warhammer or hero's of might and magic. Great compliments to be had, honestly.</span>

I think you've created a lovely little jewel here. As it stands the puzzles are not that complex, but for a proof of concept this has good predictions. It fits well with the theme, it feels polished, well done!

Impressive little jewel. Well done!

Loved what you made! Mechanics - 5/5, Theme - 5/5. A unique adoption of this theme, first time i've seen it. Had a lot of fun whilst playing, even though sometimes waiting for organs to grow and ungrow can become a bit monotone. The mechanics you've implemented, are done quite well. A bit of puzzle , not too challenging, but you can always make it more challenging - for a proof of concept you've done very well.

Also, i have a feeling there's a secret ending that i missed on because i jumped off the wrong side of the table? Can the blob actually "get away"?

already given your game a rating, just didn't leave a review.

So here it is: i think your game is too complex for me, that or either my brain is not compatible with this type of game.

However, as an idea, you've created an ingenious way to adapt to the requirements of the theme of this jam and i think it's nice to see original content in this saturated market.

I also am impressed by the auto-pathing which you created and carries working on even when swapping pieces around.

As a suggestion, whilst i do appreciate you've made the game purposefully like this, that the player needs to turn the puzzle pieces of the map around, and not changing the camera angle, i still think you should have had that functionality as well. It's never a good idea to not see the player character.

Over all, this is a well made game and a lot of consideration has been put into making it.

It's a different perspective on the theme of this jam, and i like it! I think you were ingenious with this idea, they way you've applied it and the mechanics of the game.

It's a well thought out game, and i think you've done a good job!

Haha, quite a fun game, i love the personality you gave the game by VOing the cookie.

And i didn't need another reason to dislike spiders, thanks! XD

It was short ,sweet and fun. Well done!

Absolutely fantastic! I'm not sure if you intended for the switch mechanic to function the way it did, but it's incredibly fun. Not sure, but if you've played portal, your combination of mechanics reflects the effect of having an items fall perpetually through the portal. I've managed to cheese a few levels and even fly off the screen at one point haha.

Love the little game you made, it is one of the few games which deserve a 5* for fun. Well done!

a well put together game, it feels nicely polished. Love the concept of it, even if i don't see how it fits with the theme of this jam.

It's cute and quirky, aesthetically pleasing. Well done :d

I do have to ask what is your contribution to this game? According to the asset list, there is very little work - done by yourself. Or at least that i can notice.

I understand that this is a narrative based game, but even then, how does it fit with the theme of the jam?

On to an actual game feedback:

The game seems to be well put together, the ride along gameplay combined with actual gameplay is an interesting take that is not that common. Some may say that there's too many cutscenes and too little actual play.

The aesthetic between the walkalong section and the gameplay section is too much in contrast, the art styles do not fit. I'm sure you could've used one set of assets for both the environments.

gameplay - if you're not lucky to get the movement speed buff in time, you will die. You should probably change the spawn rate or make the monster abilities more scalable by level or stage :D.

Overall, i think this narrative style game has a lot of potential, we shouldn't have too high expectations for game jam games, most of these are masterpieces, including this one.

thank you for your follow up reply. It is a game jam, we make do with what we have! seeing how difficult it is to make a game jam, i think most of these are masterpieces! Including yours!

Ok, so after reading the other feedback, i've found the secret answer (not going to post it here). Is the underground level the end of the game? I couldn't get out of there.

Overall, it's a well put together game, quite chirpy and good vibe inducing, don't mind playing such games from time to time.

well done!

Well done on the ambience, it's pull nicely together.

If i could make a suggestion, have the portal appear closer to the player character. if you have the portal appear after the obstacle, no reason in making it as a game mechanic since it's not applicable.

Other than that, i see a lot of potential here!

I think i was lucky! finished the level on my first go! Well done on your first jam! You're on your way to become better!

Just a tip for your next jam, try and stay on the theme of the jam.

Lovely game, which has educational purposes.  It is well polished, however i do wonder how does it fit with the theme of this jam?

It's a well put together game, if i could make a suggestion, is for the player to hold more than one power up at the time, it would make the game more fun i think :D.

A fun game to challenge yourself when passing the time.

I think this game has the highest average rating that i've done until now. Very well executed, no complaints, mechanically sound, aesthetically fitting and you've hit the theme right on the head!

Suggestion: don't make the entire dinosaur able to get damage. Only the feet, or a tiny hitbox on the leg part of the body. It's not that expected from players to die from touching lava with their nose when they switch dimensions.

Interesting game - it's the smoothest transition for dimension from all the games i've played so far. Wo very well done on the mechanics of the game, it's a smooth transition and experience.

Not sure if you've developed 2 levels or more, as i couldn't pass the 2nd one - the end teleported wouldn't work even if i had all the crystals. Or maybe i've missed one, but i'm sure i haven't.

Oh my gosh, i haven't played such a game in ages! It gives off Venetica vibes, and Kabol was called I think?

Brought back a bit of nostalgia. However, that nostalgia was shattered when i saw the mage inspecting a freaking scar! i was not expecting that! I believe that you'd be a good addition to a team which creates games with a lot of gags! The game in itself seemed to have no issue whatsoever. I enjoyed the free exploration bit as I love to explore games.

I have found one bug, which i cheesed. In the last level you can climb up the wall and the mobs AI won't know how to get to you lol. It was a fun experience.

I love your interpretation of the theme of this jam. Everything was cute about this game, and i never thought i'd appreciate a low poly character dressed in a banana suit.

The aesthetic of the game comes nicely together. Not too challenging, but that's how it should be, you can always make it more difficult. The mechanics do what they're supposed to do.

Overall,  this is a very well done game.

Ok, so i've been running about with all the crystals and key cards. is there an end state to this game?

Your game fits very well with the theme and the mechanics do what they're meant to do. Quite eeries atmosphere, and honestly i don't do well with horror games XD. Happy to find out there were no monsters.

The parallel world is a bit laggy on webGL, but that's nothing to do with your game in itself.

Very fun game to play!  quite addictive as well! Beside the fact that it doesn't have any connection to the theme of the jam, this is a well done game. The MDA of this game comes well together, and offers a fun, highly dynamic holistic experience.

Suggestions: If you're going to limit the action into a small arena, make sure that the player has the space to move around freely, as reducing the parameters so much would become unfair.

Aesthetics and music get a 5/5 from me, they fit so well together. Quite challenging to reach the end, that's for sure, apparently i was really close, at about 560?

Also, adding purposeful traps on landing points requires a certain level of evil, but i appreciate it lol.

This game is well put together. The MDA for it creates a nice holistic experience. Not much complexity or content, but what to expect from a game jam? At least you can know that what you have done is of high quality.

Loved the 2D environment. The 3D part may have further use if you decide to continue with this game. But as it stands, i can't see much relevance to it other than giving the narrative an aspect of dimensional travel. Maybe have a static image instead of freeroam if the use of the room is that limited. You probably spent time you didn't have developing that part.

The graphics are nice, the aesthetic is consistent, the music and the mechanics were doing what they were intended for and come together nicely.

I do not know what the function "bend" was for? i tried to use it but i don't think it worked.

Maximum fun! Short and sweet! And i could see how this game has a lot of room to grow and become more challenging as you progress.

your MDA for this game comes together very well, it's consistent, the movement is as expected.

I'm trying to understand your reasoning behind having the main game be so slow paced, uneventful - yet a lot of descriptions when clicking around. I understand this is a point and click, but let's take the tree for examples - climbing on bench for star, wishing star, snail under the tree, the tree is dead. And nothing of value about it. You don't get to actually search for things in the main gameplay, you only collect rewards from being forced to help the npc's in the drawings.

If this game has been created as an art piece, rather than a game - it all makes sense. It makes sense how Little Lucy is drawing their escapism fantasies and how even if they keep wishing for something magical to happen, just like the tree is dead with the wishing star on it, so have her hopes whilst being in the orphanage.

Now unto more objective measures:

the game has a very slow pace. It could be more dynamic. The audio presence in this game is done well, the mechanics are basic (not much you can do about a point and click game). Even though you've chosen a grim aesthetic for lucy's reality, it is too much in contrast with the drawings. The idea behind it was good, but you need to work on the implementation of it.

This game gets a 5 on aesthetics and sound. Don't think for a second that i haven't noticed the effort you've put in the details of this game. I am the type of player which likes exploring. And i have aexplored. Found the stanic chicken cult, the dancing in reverse cow. All the SFX you've used, for different weapons and attacks, getting hit, etc, makes the game feel put together very well.

What i recommend you do is scale the time sleeping someway. It can become uneventful the first nights, just waiting. Also, the light attack is so overpowered by the heavy attack that it doesn't make sense to use the light attack.

The game comes together quite nicely. The aesthetic is consistent, the atmosphere, movement and music blend well together.

I'll be honest, i thought it was just another "narrative" game to detract from the lack of content. But  i was wrong, and happy to be proven wrong. If you have the patience to overcome the incipient stages of the game, it can quickly become a fun and challenging game.

Adding the flight ability at the end seemed to be overpowered, but then you had me go through the dream section and i realised that you should have given me the invincibility superpower lol.

All in all, i think it's a well done and polished game.

I like the animations, aesthetic and consistency of the style. The movement was pretty smooth and predictable (which is good), however I found soe challenges to be unnecessarily difficult XD why make them so hard. It took me a second to realise that if i carry the cube i get a free hit, but if i don't - i die instantly. The music and SFX fit in well with the aesthetic of the game.  Mechanically it is not that complex, but it was a short and fun game.

Love this idea! i can't say it's original, but it's very well implemented. It's the combination of the elements you choose which makes the experience original, and i think you've achieved this. Functionally speaking, your game is flawless. You've added visual and SFX cues when it is safe to traverse dimensions, which is very good for playability. However, I will say that it was made too easy because of that. I do realise that as the game progresses you could have removed one of the features to make it more difficult.

Well done!

Not much to leave feedback on, but i will do my best. I know it's hard to find a team for voluntary events like this one, and sometimes even if people want to participate, life has other plans. So don't be too harsh on yourselves, it's the attitude that carries on and makes you persevere. Not only you've learned something new this game jam, but you will apply these learnings in the future.

What you've done well: control system and pacing of the player character.

The screen separation when initiating the other world is done quite well, with the small map on the bottom right showing where your current location is.

What could have been done without a complete game:

Put gameplay instructions.

I think it would be the lack of hints, or at least me not getting them, to progress and how often there were interesting things to do. I realise that this was done during a game jam, so i didn't really mark proportional to my reviews, i'm a bit more encouraging with the marks. Also, I jsut realised there's this fun shooter, where you can turn 2D. I can't find it anymore, it's in the asian market.

Absolutely brilliant idea! Love your interpretation for this theme. A lot of fun can be had, however it is too slow paced.

I love your interpretation of the theme. Also, your mechanics are ingenious i think. It was short and sweet. You should try and look into pacing the game a bit more.

I’m not that interested in using AI in my games, however i am severely curious on the process you’ve used as i have literally 0 experience in implementing AI. Do you have any resources you’ve used, or event better, make a walkthrough of your process?

oh, i can use it as a shield? So while it spins around me it blocks damage? Didn’t notice this. I’ll have to replay it now! This changes things. Gives further depth to the gameplay.

I didn’t leave a mark pending this reply. Later today i can give you a balanced review. Thanks for replying!

ok, so aside from the story which is pretty much absent, you're the top contender so far. At least for me. You've nailed the theme, love the aesthetic of the game, and there are plentiful mechanics too. If you've actually used chatgpt api, I'm even more impressed.

Also, you say in the description that you were constrained to 2 days. This gamejam lasted for 10 days.
